Video Games Free Right

With all these shootings and violence happening many people are blaming violent video games   Popular video games like Call Of Duty involves a lot of shooting and violence.  I don't think video games has a negative affect in people.  I know plenty of people who play violent video games and aren't violent at all.  It seems like many people tend to only look at the negative things.  What are the benefits of video games?  I think violent video games prevent a lot of killings and injuries.  I think this because if video games were banned the teenagers and adults might resort to do other things.  For example,  this 17 year boy in a bad neighborhood plays video games, but when that gets taken away he's getting bored and joining gangs or doing drugs or stealing.  Also every person is different.  Some might get influenced easier and other might not.  Video games distract people from ding drugs, but it also distracts people from doing their homework, doing their chores, and helping the world be a better place in general.  I think guns are the reason for the killings, so get rid of the guns and keep the video games.
